ShopBot

An AI-powered shopping assistant that helps you find products across thousands of Shopify merchants worldwide using natural language.

ShopBot is a conversational CLI agent that lets you search for products using plain English. It uses Google Gemini to understand your intent and queries the Shopify global product catalog to find relevant results — with prices, ratings, and direct checkout links.

• AI: Google Gemini 2.5 Flash (@google/genai)
• Product data: Shopify Catalog MCP (Model Context Protocol)
• Interface: Interactive CLI (Node.js readline)

• Node.js 18+
• A Google Gemini API key (free)
• Shopify Catalog API credentials (client_id and client_secret) (free)
• API keys can be generated in the Dev Dashboard

1. Clone and install dependencies:

   git clone https://github.com/nicolaslouge/ShopBot.git
   cd shopbot
   npm install

1. Create a `.env` file in the project root:

   GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key
   SHOPIFY_CATALOG_CLIENT_ID=your_client_id
   SHOPIFY_CATALOG_CLIENT_SECRET=your_client_secret

1. Run the assistant:

   npm start
